We are excited to announce this month’s online academic program, featuring a presentation on Approach to the Neurological Patient reporting Urinary Symptoms by Dr. Jalesh Panicker, Professor of Neurology and Uro-Neurology at University College London (UCL) and Clinical Lead at the Department of Uro-Neurology, National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London.

Dr. Panicker’s expertise in uro-neurology will offer valuable perspectives on managing neurological patients with urinary symptoms, making this an unmissable event for our community. About the Speaker

Dr Jalesh Panicker

Jalesh Panicker is a Professor of Neurology and Uro-Neurology at University College London (UCL), and Clinical Lead of the Department of Uro-Neurology at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London.   He has grown a multidisciplinary team of specialists across Neurology, Urology, Uro-gynaecology and Neuro-Gastroenterology including Specialist Nurses, Clinical Scientists, Pelvic health physiotherapist and Health psychologist that offers a holistic approach to the management of bladder, sexual and bowel dysfunction in individuals with known and suspected neurological disorders.  He is also  involved in delivering  Uro-Neurology teaching and training for  junior doctors and other health care professionals  across Neurology, Urology, Gynaecology and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from the UK and abroad.

Despite full time clinical commitments on the NHS, he leads an active research programme evaluating non-surgical treatment options for managing the neurogenic bladder.  He has developed a comprehensive pelvic neurology protocol including pelvic neurophysiology testing for patients presenting with unexplained pelvic symptoms where a neurological cause is suspected.  Professor Panicker has published more than 200 peer reviewed papers, 25 book chapters and published two books.  He is currently the Educational Officer of the International Neuro-urology Society, building collaborative bridges between Neurology and Urology.  He chairs the international  NEUROGED multidisciplinary taskforce that is establishing guidelines for the management of neurogenic urogenital dysfunction for practicing neurologists.
