Gokulam Pain Clinic
Blog Post
The Gokulam Pain Clinic aims to offer a multidisciplinary approach to pain management, involving doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and clinical psychologists. The primary goal is to provide pain relief and improve the quality of life for patients by offering holistic care tailored to the specific needs of each individual. Pharmacotherapy, physiotherapy, and interventional pain management (IPM) are used according to the patient’s requirements. IPM involves minimally invasive procedures, typically in the form of percutaneous precision needle placement, where a select group of drugs is placed in anatomically targeted areas. It may also include radiofrequency pulse therapy or ablation of the targeted nerves.

A multidisciplinary ‘Pain Team’ runs an outpatient pain clinic every Tuesday from 8:30 to 10:30 am in the Super Specialty OPD of Sree Gokulam Medical College, Venjaramood, Thiruvananthapuram. A comprehensive evaluation of the patient is performed clinically, along with appropriate investigations, which may include imaging if needed.
